The American Cetacean Society supports and endorses the National Marine Sanctuary Program administered by the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). We urge NOAA to designate the remaining ten proposed sites which have been nominated for sanctuary status. These sites are:

  1. North Puget Sound, Washington
  2. Western Washington Outer Coast, Washington
  3. Monterey Bay, California
  4. Santa Monica Bay, California
  5. Stellwagen Bank, Massachusetts
  6. Norfolk Canyon, Virginia
  7. Alligator Reef, Florida
  8. Sombrero Reef, Florida
  9. American Shoal, Florida
  10. Flower Garden Banks, Texas
