10th International Conference - Whales without Borders
November 10-12, 2006 - Ventura, California

Conference Silent Auction

---

Help the Whales!
Please Donate to the ACS Silent Auction

Please help protect whales, dolphins, and porpoises by making a donation to the American Cetacean Society Silent Auction on
November 11, 2006 in Ventura, California.

This is an ideal opportunity to promote your products to hundreds of the world's leading ocean explorers, marine biologists, researchers, environmentalists, writers, artists, government officials, and other distinguished guests who will be attending the 10th International Conference sponsored by ACS.

Interested donors may contact the office at (310) 548-6279 or via email info at ACSonline.org

A conference retrospective is in process - the following has been retained for reference.

The silent auction will be open to all conference participants on Saturday November 11, from 4pm to 7pm. The other events occuring during this time period (and in the same venue) are the Poster Presentation question & answer session and the Art Show. The plenary sessions let out for the day at 4pm, and the Banquet starts at 7pm.

We will have a room full of fantastic stuff, including trips, whalewatching excursions, food, books, clothes, gear, art, jewelry, stationery, trinkets, gift certificates, and lots of other fun stuff with a variety of price ranges.

It will all be arranged on tables in a room so you can see what you are bidding on. There will be a description of each item and information about the donor.

Next to each item you will find Bid Sheet showing the Minimum Bid to get things started, and the Minimum Increment for each successive bid. For any item you want, you simply write down your Bidder Number (assigned when you arrive) and your Bid Amount on the Bid Sheet. Bidding continues until closing.

When the bidding closes, the last person who bid on the item is the winner. You can pay with cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Amex or Discover. All sales are final. You redeem items at the time the bidding closes.

If you are a winning bidder, you may claim a charitable tax deduction only if you paid more than the retail value of the item. Only the excess between the amount you paid and the retail value of the item is allowed as a deduction. Receipts with retail values and winning bid amounts will be provided to all winners.

If you donate something to be sold at the silent auction, you may deduct the retail value of the item to the extent allowed by law. (ACS is a 501(c)(3) organization. Please consult your tax advisor for all relevant details regarding tax deductions.)

All proceeds from the auction will benefit ACS since the donors have graciously agreed to give us these items. We are including the donors names and phone numbers in the Conference Program, and we encourage you to support them and let them know how much we appreciate their support of ACS.
