ACS FRIENDS
It costs nothing to belong to our extended family of ACS Friends - the people who help ACS protect whales, dolphins and porpoises in ways that do not necessarily involve membership or financial contributions. We appreciate whatever support you can give us.

What else can I do to help?
You don't have to be a member to become involved in our conservation efforts. You may:

  • Volunteer for our yearly gray whale census in Southern California with the Los Angeles
  • Count Dolphins! - take your pick - participate in any of the quarterly Day of the Dolphin projects with the Orange County chapter
  • Report strandings in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Participate in the Puget Sound Vashon Hydrophone project
  • Join us one of our many ACS sponsored Whale Watch trips
  • Help clean up our beaches
  • Train as a naturalist with either the Orange County or Los Angeles chapters
  • Attend one of our chapter meeting and hear presentations by world-class scientists; meetings are always free and open to the public.

Continue to educate yourself and others!

We appreciate the support of all our Friends and Members whose contributions enable us to sponsor a wide range of educational, research and conservation programs that are essential to accomplishing our mission. Thanks to your help, these programs are generating positive results that give us inspiration and courage to face the challenges that lie ahead.

There is still much to be done to protect cetaceans and their habitats. We are working to address the impact of extraordinary environmental changes that threaten all species, and we are making sure that our voice is heard loud and clear as we gather global support for enforcing the principles of conservation. Thank you for your participation in this worldwide effort to create a more positive future - for whales and for ourselves.

As Margaret Mead said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world - indeed it is the only thing that ever has."
